Grouping Like Elements—Non-Example

Use alignment and proximity to visually chunk your information so it is easier to understand.

It is helpful to the learner when you show relationships between different types of content by left justifying, indenting, centering or right justifing type.

The copy above was intentionally grouped and indented to highlight the principles of Gestalt Theory. Creating groups with related elements guides the learner and improves the navigation process. When related groupings are used consistently, patterns are formed. These patterns become recognizable to learners and make learning more predictable.
