Alignment: Dividing the Space
Dividing the Space > Grouping Like Elements
In visual design, alignment is used to divide space and create structure. The way elements are arranged can communicate many things, including order, unity, conflict and confusion
Dividing the Space—Example
Aligning elements shows a sense of relationship between the different parts of your instructional design. By aligning your headings you can help the learner to navigate the instruction.
Instructional designers catagorize each type of information for learners to help them to find what they need quickly. It's good not to use too many different alignments within your hierarchic levels because it causes confusion.
In this tutorial, I used alignment to create unity and set a pace for students. By manipulating the spacing between elements you can set a tone and a visual sequence for learners to follow.
